Royal Mail Union Workers recently passed a vote to take industrial action and perform a 48-hour strike sometime within the next 6 months. Currently there has been no exact date for the strike, however it is most likely to occur either on Black Friday or during the Christmas shopping period.
We are still expecting all orders placed during this period to be dispatched and delivered within the time frame provided in our Terms and Conditions ( 3-5 working days for the date the order was made). This is because these strikes will only affect Royal Mail and all other couriers should be operating their normal working hours.
Here’s our tips:
- Upgrade to Royal Mail first class service, therefore even taking into account the 48hour delay your products should reach within 3-5 working days.
- Give yourself more options by creating a business account with different couriers (more information below).
- If you only use Royal Mail think about closing your shop 2 days before the strike and ship everything and re-open after the strike has finished.
- If you are struggling with fulfilling orders contact your Account Manager straight away and he will be able to assist.
Below are some links to information about opening a business account with alternative couriers.
